UK based Architecture Practice, Medical Architecture picked up the award for ‘Project of the Year’ at the Specifi Awards in Newcastle for their work on The Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre in Hull. Tobermore paving was the hard landscaping of choice for this award winning project.
The pioneering Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre, which opened summer 2018, is the first of a new class of National Health Service facilities designed to cater for the needs of an increasingly elderly population without the recourse to hospital admission.
When considering hard landscaping, Tobermore presented a variety of product offerings and Medical Architecture was particularly impressed with Fusion paving, modular block paving infused with sparkling granite aggregates. The products were installed in a random colour laying pattern, creating a stylish landscape for paths and communal areas.
Paul Yeomans Director at Medical Architecture said: “We were really pleased with the Tobermore’s hard landscaping. As in most healthcare projects the team managed to spend the budget wisely and create a real sense of arrival in front of the building.”
Paul Brooke, Specifi CEO commented, “Congratulations to Medical Architecture for their Project of the Year Award, well deserved recognition from their peers who voted them as our overall winner on the evening with over 100 people attending the awards dinner and contributing 100 trees to tree aid for the votes cast live at the event.”
