Tobermore donates £20,000 to Barnardo’s NI bringing total donations to over £320,000.

Giving back to the community is an integral part of Tobermore’s company ethos. Tobermore remains a longstanding supporter of local charity, Barnardo’s NI.

In the true spirit of philanthropy, Tobermore’s Managing Director David Henderson has made another generous donation of £20,000 to Barnardo’s, the leading children’s charity in Northern Ireland and across the UK.

To date, Tobermore’s donations total over £320,000. All donations to Barnardo’s go directly towards services to make a difference in the lives of local children.

Christine Doherty from Barnardo’s visited Tobermore HQ to accept the cheque presented by Head of Marketing, Maire Nawaz on behalf of David Henderson. Christine commented “Barnardo’s has over 40 projects operating in NI, supporting over 18,000 children and young people. Tobermore’s donation allows us to support more children and families at a time when support is most needed most.”

To put this in to perspective, donations to Barnardo’s could supply bedding and give a young person leaving Care a safe space to sleep. Money donated could go towards providing food vouchers for families who are struggling to get by or energy vouchers to heat families’ homes and let children wake up to a warm home.

Michele Janes Head of Barnardo’s Northern Ireland visited Tobermore earlier in the year to meet David and talk about the difference his vital donations make. 

“We are delighted and very grateful for the continued support from Tobermore. Their dedication over the years has made a huge difference to the children, young people and families we support.  It was a great pleasure to meet the team and chat about the issues that children are facing – and how Tobermore are continuing to help.  We are looking forward to working together in future.”
