Leading paving and walling manufacturer Tobermore has been awarded the Payroll Giving Platinum Mark 2021.

The accolade was awarded to Tobermore in recognition of their commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy and committed giving in the workplace.

The Government endorsed awards showcase Payroll Giving excellence within businesses across the UK – celebrating achievement and praising creativity and dedication to tax-free giving. The Platinum Mark is the second highest level which can be achieved. Tobermore was presented with the award as over 20% of their employee base donate through Payroll Giving.

The Payroll Giving scheme enables Tobemore to donate regularly from gross pay/pension to charities of their choice. The donations are taken from pay/pension before income tax is applied, making it a tax-effective way to give.

Laura McGlade, Human Resource Manager at Tobermore commented:

“We are so proud to receive the Payroll Giving Platinum Award 2021. A massive thank you goes to our generous employees who helped contribute toward a UK total of £1.3M in the last 12 months. Payroll Giving has been one of the only fundraising methods that has provided regular and reliable income for struggling charities throughout the pandemic.”

A spokesperson for Charitable Giving commented:

“Many Congratulations to all our 2021 Winners! It has been an unprecedented year of struggle for so many and it has been wonderful to see the difference that Payroll Giving donations have made to charities large and small. Thank You all for your amazing support and for helping us to Make such a World of Difference together!”
