‘Tis the season of giving — and in true Christmas spirit, Tobermore is delighted to continue to support the work of Barnardo’s by making a donation of £20,000, in lieu of Christmas gifts.
Barnardo’s NI is the largest children’s charity in Northern Ireland, supporting over 12,000 children, young people, and their families through a range of programmes and services. The charity provides over 40 services for children and young people and delivers educational support programmes in over 200 schools.
Although the current Covid-19 emergency has presented major challenges for Barnardo’s, the charity has not stopped delivering services and continues to support the children, young people and families across Northern Ireland who need it most.
Tobermore has donated funds to Barnardo’s at Christmas for several years and the company’s donations over the years total over £270,000.
David Henderson, Managing Director of Tobermore commented:
“Giving back to our community is an integral part of our company’s ethos. This has been an extremely challenging year for everyone, and especially for the children and young people Barnardo’s supports. In making a charitable donation in lieu of Christmas gifts, we really hope to make the future a little brighter for this vital charity and those who rely on it.”
Michele Janes, Head of Barnardo’s NI commented:
“These are undoubtedly unprecedented times. As families face more pressures, risks become heightened and support systems are reduced, the work we do to support children and young people has become more important than ever before.”
“I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all staff, volunteers, supporters and local companies who have generously supported and donated during this difficult time.”
