What is a reinforced retaining wall?

A reinforced wall is constructed using either geogrid reinforcement or concrete backfill, both of which reinforce the structure. This reinforcement allows retaining walls to be built much higher than a gravity wall and support extra weight in addition to that of the retained soil. They can be constructed using traditional masonry brick or using the more modern method of mortarless modular interlocking concrete retaining wall blocks such as Secura Grand.

These blocks do not require wet trades and their installation is less dependent on weather conditions on site. They are therefore faster to install, bringing time and financial efficiencies to groundworkers and housebuilders.
