When Jennifer Davidson moved into her grandparents’ home, the garden needed some care and attention. With fond memories of playing in the garden as a child, Jennifer knew she wanted to create a space that echoed those happy times.

“I wanted to bring something from my childhood back into the garden,” says Jennifer. “I loved climbing the trees here and crawling through the undergrowth.”
Jennifer, an illustrator, spent a lot of time sketching out her ideas and visions for the garden. A key requirement was for a patio area on which they could dine after work, entertain friends and enjoy marshmallows toasted over their fire pit.
“It’s something we’d been thinking about for years,” she says. “When the COVID-19 restrictions hit in 2020, it freed up our evenings and weekend so we could make our garden dream a reality.”
Jennifer and her partner designed the patio area themselves, using the Tobermore website and brochures to find the products they wanted to use.
“We had a few visits to the Tobermore Paving Centre and met with someone to discuss our options. They were fantastic at answering all my questions.”
Since the work was completed, the pair have been enjoying spending time in their new outdoor space.
“There isn’t a day that goes by when we don’t go out into the garden – even the coldest days! It’s a real sanctuary for us; somewhere to forget the stresses of the day and reconnect with nature and ourselves. We love our enchanted woodland trail through the borders, which leads down a winding path to our sunny patio.
