“The main aim for our patio area was to allow for easy access to the garden from the kitchen area,” says Rachel. “We really wanted a decent space where we could have outdoor dining in the summertime and enjoy longer evenings in the sun later in the year.”
Rachel also wanted a patio area for her young children. “Around our house is mostly stone and gravel,” she says, “so we wanted an area that the kids could use to go on their bikes. We wanted our youngest son, who’s two, to be able to use his tricycle on the new patio as well.”
The first step of the project for Rachel was to speak to the team at Tobermore. “A Landscape Designer then came out to our house,” she explains. “We’ve been here almost two years so the first year I spent the summer watching which areas of the garden we would use the most and which areas got the sun for the longest time.”
“Once I let the designer know exactly where we wanted the seating area to be she was then able to design something which worked for the whole family. We were able to add on double patio doors at the side of the house to allow the patio to come out around the side of the house as well.”
Rachel concludes: “The process with Tobermore was really easy– it was actually quicker than I expected because all the products we wanted to use were in stock so it was just a matter of having to collect the products ourselves once we placed our order after having the design and quote through from Tobermore. We are delighted with the finished project, the kids absolutely love it and it’s really opened up our home and allows us to use our outside area more than we would have previously.”
