Choose varieties that offer year-round interest with minimal fuss. Good options include: 

Lavatera, Hypericum, Leycesteria, Choisya, Kerria, Viburnum, and Mahonia. 

Pick the right size for the space and you’ll hardly need to prune for years. 

Create a spot to enjoy the evening sun 

Choose a spot in your garden that soaks up the last rays of the day. It’s the perfect place for a cosy paved seating area, whether that’s a snug bench or a table and chairs.
