EI Electronics, market leader in Fire & Carbon Monoxide detection products, has officially opened its new state-of-the-art headquarters. Located on its existing campus in Shannon, Co. Clare, the new facility hired 200 additional staff members.
In line with the company’s sustainability strategy, the new building will be one of the first Near Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) in Shannon. The design of the external area needed to align with this strategy and required permeable paving.
With this in mind, Tobermore’s Hydropave Fusion Duo was the perfect choice. The striking granite aggregate finish of the paving ensures to complement the modern finish of the building. Grey tones of silver and graphite were used for the pedestrian walkways and trafficked areas to include parking bays.
A sustainable paving option was required to complement new state-of-the-art headquarters
Market leader in Fire & Carbon Monoxide detection products, EI Electronics has opened its new state-of-the-art headquarters. The new facility sees the company embark on their next phase of growth after 55 years on their current site located in Shannon, Co. Clare.
A key pillar in the company’s strategy is their approach to sustainability with the new building being one of the first Near Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB).
Suitable high-quality permeable paving products were required to align with the sustainability requirements whilst complementing the new state-of-the-art building. Trafficability of products needed to be considered as all external areas of the building including the main entrance area, pedestrian walkways and carpark were to be paved.
Tobermore’s Hydropave Fusion provides the perfect permeable paving solution
As sustainability was of great importance, the environmental benefits of using Hydropave Fusion Duo guided the decision to use the product. Acting as an effective SuDs solution it allows rainfall to infiltrate naturally into the ground, preventing potential flood issues arising.
Tobermore’s Hydropave Fusion Duo in grey tones Graphite and Silver were chosen for the new site. These tones perfectly complement the new state-of-the-art building that has been designed using a dark colour palette. Manufactured with natural granite aggregates, the permeable block paving provides a striking and contemporary appearance.
Hydropave Fusion Duo in Silver was used for the parking bays which are delineated with contrasting dashed lines of Hydropave Fusion in Graphite. Using a paving laying pattern for parking bays means there is no requirement to manually paint the designated parking spots. Suitable for commercial traffic, Hydropave Fusion Duo gave confidence in its trafficability.
Tobermore’s Sienna Duo was laid on the main entrance areas in Graphite and Silver. As both products are manufactured with natural granite aggregates, they complemented each other perfectly.
