To ensure optimum performance of Hydropave permeable paving, Tobermore recommends following some simple maintenance guidelines. These are provided as a general maintenance regime but may be altered if necessary, depending on the specific paved area or any factors which may impact the paving.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hydropave permeable paving works by allowing surface water to infiltrate through its joints into the sub base beneath. It requires much less maintenance than you might think, but some simple steps should be followed to ensure the paving is kept looking its best.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are seven simple steps that we recommend to maintain your permeable paving:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. R<\/span><\/b>outine <\/span><\/b>v<\/span><\/b>isual <\/span><\/b>i<\/span><\/b>nspection. <\/span><\/b>Visually inspect the paving at lea<\/span>st once a year <\/span>for ponding during heavy rainfall or following heavy rainfall<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. R<\/span><\/b>emedial maintenance for ponding<\/span><\/b>. B<\/span>rush<\/span> or <\/span>vacuum joints and replace any lost jointing material as required.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Structural maintenance<\/span><\/b>. <\/span>Replace damaged blocks and repair any rutting as required.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Maintenance of aesthetics of the joints<\/span><\/b>. B<\/span>rush<\/span> or <\/span>vacuum joints and replace any lost jointing material once a year.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Maintenance for aesthetics of the paving blocks<\/span><\/b>. <\/span>Brush blocks with soapy water and light pressure wash as required.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Weed Control<\/span><\/b>. <\/span><\/b>Treat with weed killer where needed<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Maintenance during the winter months<\/span><\/b>. Apply d<\/span>e-icing salts as required during winter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
