There\u2019s\u00a0a reason people return to the Balmoral Show year after year. After wandering through the livestock arenas, food\u00a0stalls\u00a0and buzzing showgrounds of 2026, we completely understand the hype.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From the moment we arrived at the Eikon Exhibition Centre, there was a real energy around the showgrounds. Families carrying trays of food, children racing towards the fairground, country music drifting through the air, tractors the size of houses parked beside beautifully designed garden displays. Everywhere you looked, something was happening.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0take us long to realise one thing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You could spend an entire day at the Balmoral Show and still not see everything.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0showjumping\u00a0arena drew huge\u00a0crowds<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Even if you know absolutely nothing about horses, it was impossible not to stop and admire the\u00a0showjumping\u00a0arena.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The atmosphere alone pulled people in.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Crowds gathered around the rails as riders flew over jumps at incredible speed, with a level of skill that genuinely left people speechless.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Once the horses left the arena, the atmosphere shifted completely.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Bolddog\u00a0FMX stunt team took over the SPAR Main Arena with motorbikes soaring through the air performing backflips, mid-air tricks and jumps that had the crowd wincing and cheering at the same time.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The farming machinery at Balmoral Show 2026 was on another\u00a0level<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Photos really do not prepare you for the scale of the farming machinery at Balmoral.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some tractor tyres were genuinely taller than people. Huge livestock systems, advanced milking\u00a0technology\u00a0and machinery we never even knew existed filled entire sections of the showgrounds.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most fascinating things we saw all\u00a0day?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sheep\u00a0hoof washing equipment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That is the beauty of the Balmoral Show. It gives you a rare chance to see parts of rural life and agriculture that most people would never normally experience\u00a0firsthand.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Sheep shearing is complete madness\u2026 but strangely\u00a0impressive<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Have you ever watched sheep shearing properly before? Neither had we.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Within minutes, huge crowds had gathered around the demonstrations, all watching in disbelief as shearers somehow transformed extremely fluffy sheep into completely different animals in what felt like seconds.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At one point, the crowd cheered on a local shearer working his way through 13 sheep in just over 10 minutes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was equal parts impressive,\u00a0chaotic\u00a0and slightly stressful to watch.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Country music, dancing\u00a0grannies\u00a0and queues for Marty\u00a0Mone<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Everywhere you walked, there was music playing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Country songs echoed across the showgrounds all day, adding to the\u00a0atmosphere\u00a0and making everything feel even more lively.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps the\u00a0biggest crowd-pleasers of all were the dancing grannies, who seemed to appear out of nowhere blasting music like\u00a0<\/span>Pump Up the Jam<\/span><\/i>\u00a0while gliding through the crowds on what looked like mobility shopping trolleys\u2026 which we later realised were somehow actually\u00a0Segways\u00a0in disguise.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To this moment, we still have absolutely no idea how they worked.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They brought brilliant energy everywhere they went and even made an appearance on the Tobermore stand.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The family entertainment areas were packed from morning onwards too, with excited\u00a0fans\u00a0queueing to meet Marty\u00a0Mone\u00a0for photos and signatures.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s weather certainly tried its best to dampen the atmosphere, but the Rock Choir carried on performing through the rain with huge smiles and plenty of applause from the crowds gathered around them.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The funfair was far bigger than we expected too. Dodgems, rollercoasters,\u00a0a\u00a0giant\u00a0wheel\u00a0and\u00a0a Grease-style\u00a0funhouse stretched across a huge section of the site.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking out across the entire showgrounds from the top of the wheel really showed just how enormous the Balmoral Show\u00a0actually is.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The food absolutely lived up to the\u00a0hype<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

No Balmoral Show recap would be complete without mentioning the food.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly, we are still thinking about some of it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside what felt like industrial quantities of coffee consumed over four very long days, our team somehow managed to work our way through brisket fries, salt and chilli chicken, burgers, baked potatoes, pizza, crepes, fresh fruit\u00a0tubs, crumble pots, giant meringues and more traybakes than we should probably admit to.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The food halls and outdoor stalls were packed from morning to evening, with queues forming\u00a0almost everywhere\u00a0you looked.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps the\u00a0real winners of the week though?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The free cocktail sausages from\u00a0Hafners.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At one point, we are\u00a0fairly certain\u00a0members of the Tobermore team were actively planning their routes around the showgrounds based on when they could \u201caccidentally\u201d pass the stand again.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Completely understandable, to be fair.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outdoor living, inspiration and one\u00a0very popular\u00a0car<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

One thing that really stood out this year was just how much interest there is now around outdoor living and garden transformation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everywhere we turned, people gathered around planting displays, outdoor seating areas, water\u00a0features\u00a0and garden inspiration spaces looking for ideas they could recreate at home.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the Tobermore stand, one of the biggest talking points throughout the week was\u00a0retaining\u00a0walls and garden zoning. Homeowners were especially interested in ways to create\u00a0different levels, define\u00a0spaces\u00a0and add more structure to their gardens without losing that relaxed, welcoming feel.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One conversation we heard\u00a0again and again\u00a0from homeowners was this:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI just do not know where to start.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0easy to see why.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When you are planning an outdoor space, there are so many decisions to make. Paving styles, layouts, colours, planting,\u00a0budgets\u00a0and features. It can quickly start to feel overwhelming.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It turned out we were not the only ones who felt that way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the second day of the show, the UTV at the Show team approached us looking for somewhere to film an interview with Royal Ulster Agricultural Society President, David Cunningham. They described the Tobermore stand as \u201cthe loveliest spot for an interview.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u00a0summed up exactly the kind of atmosphere the space created throughout the week.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outdoor saunas\u00a0also seemed to be everywhere\u00a0this year too. It\u00a0definitely felt\u00a0like one of the biggest garden trends people were talking about.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, there was one unexpected star of the stand that nobody could ignore.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 1997 Mazda MX-5 Mk1.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From the moment the show opened, people constantly stopped to admire it, photograph it and chat about it.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A huge thanks goes to Tobermore team member Adam Bigger for lending us his pride and joy for the week. After the amount of attention it received, we did joke he could\u00a0probably have\u00a0sold it before the show was over.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why the Balmoral Show still\u00a0matters<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

What makes the Balmoral Show so special is that it brings together so many different worlds in one place.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Agriculture, food, family days out, outdoor living, machinery, music, shopping, design\u00a0inspiration\u00a0and local businesses all somehow sit side-by-side\u00a0and it works.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For us, one of the best parts of the week was simply getting to chat with so many homeowners face-to-face. Hearing what people are planning for their gardens, what they are struggling with, and what excites them about outdoor spaces gave us plenty of inspiration to take away.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
