Grand Order for Clonduff GAA's New Playing Fields.

In 2010 Tobermore are set to build on our 2009 success in supplying paving and walling products to sport, social and leisure clubs throughout Ireland & Britain.

The Clonduff GAA Club are used to big achievements on the pitch but now the administration team in the club are also completing a large scale redevelopment of their grounds.

The club have decided to use a perimeter wall at the back end of the pitch. Tobermore are supplying the bricks and the wall is being built by local construction company Brown Brothers Ltd despite the extreme weather conditions at the moment.

Aidan Brown from Brown Brothers Ltd believes it is the ease of build and the savings that come from the quick build time that encouraged the committee in the club to choose the Secura Grand wall.

“It was important for the club to reduce construction costs as much as possible but it was also important that any construction work carried out and materials used in the redevelopment were of the highest quality” said Aidan Brown.

Aidan continues “In this case choosing Secura Grand was an ideal solution. The brick is of fantastic quality and the time saved in construction will also reduce costs for them. Secura Grand is a single faced, light weight, dry block wall which ensures that it is very quickly and easily built”.

Aidan adds “The Secura Grand wall is a gravity walling system which in this particular project is combined with Geogrid, to form a reinforced soil wall at it's highest point of 1.5m”.

The wall is not the only work under construction. The existing car park and back field will be re-aligned to accommodate the new development as shown in the Architects drawings below.

The original driveway will be incorporated into the new field. The new access road is directly opposite the gate to the Chapel car park. This work is a joint contract between M & M Contracts (Crilly) and Leode Quarries.
